mirabai young scholars

mirabai provides scholarships for eight high-school-aged students who are interested in the art of choral conducting-teaching to participate in a side-by-side immersion course coinciding with the Choral Music Experience Institute on the campus of Michigan State University. This innovative educational experience pairs each young scholar with a member of mirabai in a one-to-one mentoring relationship. Scholars will enjoy private conducting instruction and group classes in score analysis, aural skills, and rehearsal techniques, as well as observing professional teachers from around the country in a masterclass setting. The goal is to provide these young scholars the opportunity to integrate with current teachers and explore the choral profession as a career path.
