Siobhan O’Brien
Siobhan O’Brien currently teaches choral music at Matthew Henson Middle School in Charles County, Maryland. Under her leadership, the choirs at Henson have received first place, overall highest score, and the grand sweepstakes award for the 2016 and 2017 showcase music festival, as well as consistent superior ratings at the CCPS District Assessment Adjudication. Additionally, she joined the College of Southern Maryland faculty for the 2016-2017 academic year to teach the College Chamber Choir and Chorale.
Siobhan received a Master of Music in Music Education from Michigan State University, where she was also a University Fellow. Siobhan holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a major in voice from Buffalo State College. She earned Early Childhood and Level One Certification from the Gordon Institute for Music Learning Theory.
Siobhan is a current member of ACDA and MMEA, and serves as Department Chair and PR liaison for her middle school. She has agreed to write the curriculum for Middle School Choral Music for Charles County over the coming summer. As a performer Siobhan has been involved in a number of local recitals, opera performances, and has also performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus. Siobhan currently lives in Alexandria, VA.
